If Democrats are so hellbent on finding evidence of “collusion,” then perhaps they should investigate the relationship between the New York Times and Hillary Clinton during her time as Secretary of State.
This past weekend, Wikileaks published a late night tweet indicating that a reporter for the New York Times used to email the State Department and give them information regarding stories that were going to be published in the days ahead. At the time, Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, meaning that the failed Democratic presidential nominee would have been able to create spin and deceptive talking points as a means of countering the stories published about her or her team.
“Email shows New York Times handed over Cablegate’s publication schedule to the US government (without telling @WikiLeaks) giving the State Department, then headed by Hillary Clinton, up to 9 days in advance to spin the revelations or create diversions,” read the tweet published by Wikileaks.
If this assertion made by Wikileaks is true, then Hillary Clinton would have had a tremendous advantage over those who were genuinely concerned over Clinton’s countless acts of lawlessness and corruption. Nine days is a long time to be able to analyze the stories that would be covered by the media and come up with excuses, and ultimately find ways to avoid applied justice and the rule of law. Indeed, the under-the-radar communication that went on between this journalist at the New York Times and Barack Obama’s State Department may have played a significant role in Hillary Clinton’s ability to get away with virtually anything, despite having committed numerous crimes and questionable acts. (Related: Hillary Clinton took $145 million from the Russians to sell out the U.S. uranium supply to America’s enemies.)
Setting aside the very serious issues that come along with this sort of governmental corruption, another problem that conservatives in this country must deal with in one way or another is the growing relationship between the liberals and the mainstream media. Indeed, there is a strong argument to be made that the media today is an appendage of the Democrat Party – the fact that networks like CNN constantly defend progressives and slander those on the right side of the political spectrum is far from a coincidence.
Most people probably remember last year’s controversy surrounding Veteran Democratic operative Donna Brazile, who had been accused of forwarding debate questions to the Clinton campaign so that Hillary could have time to prepare her answers well in advance. After months of denying any wrongdoing, Brazile finally admitted that the allegations were true in an essay published in Time magazine.
“In October, a subsequent release of emails revealed that among the many things I did in my role as a Democratic operative and [Democratic National Committee] Vice Chair prior to assuming the interim D.N.C. Chair position was to share potential town hall topics with the Clinton campaign,” Brazile explained.
The Democratic operative added, “My job was to make all our Democratic candidates look good, and I worked closely with both campaigns to make that happen. But sending those emails was a mistake I will forever regret.”
If Democrats are still looking for collusion, they now have two areas to investigate – collusion between Hillary Clinton and The New York Times, and collusion between the DNC and media outlets that hosted town hall events during the 2016 presidential campaign. There is more collusion that goes on between the Democrats and the media then there ever was or ever will be between Donald Trump and the Russian regime. It is up to conservatives and American patriots to expose this game that the progressives are playing before it’s too late.
