It is becoming clear even to corporate news outlets that something isn’t quite right with communist China’s reporting about the state of novel coronavirus. The official claim is that there are only about 60,000 confirmed cases of the disease worldwide, even though far more people appear to be falling ill and dying, according to people on the ground there who are observing the situation as it unfolds.
Mainstream media sources like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post are all now reporting the fact that hospitals in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, are having to turn away thousands of sick patients because they simply don’t have enough beds or staff to care for everyone.
Even with the emergency construction of at least two new hospital compounds in Wuhan alone, the battle is being lost, independent journalists continue to warn. And now non-independent journalists are finally admitting the very same thing as they struggle to reconcile the official numbers with what their own eyes are telling them.
The Wall Street Journal, for instance, which was among the earliest mainstream media outlets to question the numbers coming out of China, says that testing for coronavirus is apparently flawed because many people who are testing negative still show obvious signs of pneumonia. But because of their negative diagnosis, such folks are being turned away from receiving care and left to die.
“This arbitrary classification, undoubtedly adopted by some foolish and shortsighted bureaucrat, caused many to suffer as hospitals refused thousands of patients with serious symptoms,” reports Zero Hedge. “Some may have even died in their homes, unbeknownst to the government and their terrified neighbors.”
Be sure to listen below as Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, talks about how the number of coronavirus infections recently jumped by 33 percent in just one day:
What appears to now be happening is that hospitals throughout China are only concerned with admitting patients who have confirmed coronavirus and who demonstrate the severest of symptoms. Everyone else, including patients with the same severe symptoms but no official coronavirus diagnosis, is being turned away.
Researchers from Imperial College London estimate that only one out of every 19 people who actually has novel coronavirus is being tested for it, meaning most infected patients are currently flying under the radar. This would suggest that there are at least one million people in Wuhan alone with novel coronavirus, a figure massively higher than the 60,000 or so being officially reported.
This is highly problematic, especially in patients with mild symptoms, because they’re probably being overlooked as they continue to quietly spread the virus to others without detection.
“The terrifying possibility that the already overwhelmed Chinese healthcare system is missing a huge number of patients with probably mostly mild symptoms is especially worrying since the virus appears to have the ability to spread ‘silently’ – i.e. before the infected start displaying symptoms,” Zero Hedge warns.
“Many doctors at Chinese hospitals are petitioning the regime to use chest scans to diagnose patients instead of swab tests, which have been found to be extremely unreliable.”
Time will tell how this whole situation pans out. We’re all being told not to worry, but the evidence speaks for itself and it is saying, you’d better at least prepare for a worst-case scenario, even if it doesn’t pan out, otherwise you could be sorry.
