Western media outlets would have the world believe that Israel’s attack on Iran was substantial, but Iran is telling a different story.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told NBC that Western news is lying about the limited strike, which was centered on the city of Isfahan.
“What happened last night was not a strike,” the top Iranian diplomat said about the attack, which occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, April 19.
Two or three small UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were all that Israel deployed in the attack, which Amir-Abdollahian mocked by calling them “more like toys that our children play with, not drones.”
Iran’s anti-air defenses easily took out the UAVs, and Amir-Abdollahian says they appear to have taken off from inside Iran, the suggestion being that they were launched by proxy.
As the attack was still unfolding, Iranian state television reported that “three drones were observed in the sky over Isfahan,” and that “the air defense system became active and destroyed these drones in the sky.”
After it was revealed that the attack involved play-toy drones, the Israeli media, including The New York Times, rephrased the attack as a mere symbolic message from Israel that the Zionist state can inflict severe damage if it wants to at a later date.
(Related: Iran is not playing around. If Israel does not stop launching attacks, Iran will retaliate accordingly.)
One of the Israeli strikes targeted an area near an Iranian nuclear facility in the city of Natanz. The Times and Israel described the attack near the nuclear site as including “a high-tech missile that was able to evade Iran’s radar systems” in a move “calibrated to make Iran think twice” before launching another counterattack on Israel.
Western media of course described Iran’s counterattack as an “attack,” failing to mention that Israel provoked all this in the first place by bombing Iran’s embassy in Damascus, Syria, in order to make Iran appear as the aggressor.
Israel and its worshippers really want to launch a full-scale war on Iran, and they have wanted this for decades. The problem is that nobody – i.e., the United States – wants to do it on Israel’s behalf, which is what Israel wants and quite frankly needs if it has any chance at winning.
Even with America’s help, Israel is treading on dangerous ground by provoking Iran, especially since Russia has promised to back Iran should the U.S. get involved by siding with Israel on this one.
The Times of Israel really tried to hype up the attack, claiming it damaged the radar system of an S-300 missile system installed at the Eighth Shekari Air Base in Isfahan. Other media told a different story, describing the attack as doing almost nothing in terms of serious damage.
“There does not appear to be any extensive damage at an air base purportedly targeted by an Israeli military strike,” reported CNN, citing “exclusive satellite images obtained by CNN from Umbra Space.”
“The synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite images were taken around 10:18 a.m. local time. There does not appear to be any large craters in the ground and there are no apparent destroyed buildings. Additional visual satellite imagery will be needed to check for burn scars – which cannot be seen by SAR images – around the complex.”
Then there is all the speculation as to whether or not any fighter jet-launched missiles were even used in the attack like Israel claimed since Iran has not yet confirmed or denied such claims.
Iran is clearly trying to downplay the attack while Israel is hyping it up. Perhaps only God really knows what is going on anymore in the Middle East as the powers that be attempt to drag us all into yet another world war to keep themselves rich.
